Niki has a beautiful warm smile that leaves a lasting impression. In most pictures of her that have been published, she is smiling. This includes her work in commercial advertising and magazine covers. It is probably fair to say she has the best smile of any supermodel.

When you think of other supermodels like Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, and Stephanie Seymour, you don't remember them as often smiling. There are rare picture of Christy smiling. Probably more with Cindy smiling, and almost none of Stephanie Seymour with a smile on her face.

Q. What do you think is your best feature?
Niki: My smile. I take good care of my teeth with regular visits to the dentist and I brush really well.

How to get started in modeling

Modeling always seemed interesting to me, but I never really took it seriously. I mean, I played baseball and ran around like a tomboy.

But then my mom took some pictures of me, and we went to a few of the local agencies here in my hometown, Miami.

A short time later, I signed with an agency in New York and made the cover of Seventeen.

That's when things really started to happen. My younger sister, Krissy, has also modeled, and we've done shows together in Milan.

My Cover Girl contract is one of the best things to happen. The people I work with are extremely down-to-earth and make me really comfortable. Some of them have been with Cover Girl since before I was born, so it's a real family atmosphere.

My favorite all-time shoot was the one we did with dolphins. One of them even swam up to me and kissed me!
